In WWE 2K17, you would create your own superstar and take them on a journey from NXT to the main roster, competing for titles and facing off against established superstars. The new Promo Engine was central to this mode. WWE Universe Mode: Players could create their own WWE shows and pay-per-view events, building rivalries and storylines. The new Promo Engine was also integrated into this mode. Creation Suite: The creation tools were expanded, allowing players to create custom superstars, arenas, and championships. Roster: The game featured a massive roster of over 130 playable characters, including current WWE and NXT superstars, as well as Legends. This included a mix of wrestlers from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. Notable names on the roster included John Cena, Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, and a pre-order bonus character, Goldberg.
